Both the boys and girls UK Lions squads enjoyed a pre-Christmas trip to Malaga, Spain, for warm weather training and match play. With players drawn from different places all across the UK, the main aim behind the tour was to form very strong team friendships within the two squads, whilst also continuing to develop high quality individual and team based hockey skills. All the players were encouraged to aspire to be the best player they can be, to try out new things, and to make good decisions whilst playing under pressure. For some it was an opportunity to lead small groups of players in game situations and to contribute to the management of the tour. The weekend was an amazing success with all the players joined by their parents and families in what was a busy and exciting weekend of hockey. Great fun and a life long happy memory for everyone.
