On the 5th May we are bringing together as many of the past and present Lions to celebrate Pete’s life and the contribution he gave to hockey and the UK Lions. Are you joining us?

Schedule for the day:

Pete’s Hockey on the Day

Junior coaching from 10.30 am until 12.00 – pitch to be divided into 4 sections with Russell Garcer (England & GB), Calum Giles (England & GB) and Smudger Smith (England & GB) have agreed to do 3 x 25 minute sessions and a Goalkeeping session.
Running alongside the morning coaching it is intended to run a cake sale and tea/coffee alongside the pitch.

• 12.30 – 14:00 scratch team hockey for anyone turning up to play in
• 14:00 – 15:15 UK Lions vs FarCity United.
• 15:30 – 18:00 scratch hockey.

“Free” barbecue located adjoining the clubhouse entrance.

Raffle to be organised for the lunchtime break – prizes

• Bottles of wine
• Meal Voucher for Akash restaurant,
• Tickets for Hampshire 20-20.

Auction Evening in the Clubhouse at 19:00:

• A signed 2012 Olympic GB shirt donated by Smudge Smith (reserve already bid at £250)
• Commonwealth Games England shirt signed by the England team out in Australia donated by Russell (open for reserve bids),
• Portsmouth Football Shirt signed by the current Pompey team (open for reserve bids)
• Rally experience which would cost in the region of £340 (open for reserve bids).
• A number of Pete’s paintings to be auctioned.

On the hour toast from the clubhouse balcony with short speeches/comments from City of Portsmouth and Fareham Juniors and Seniors, Umpires, Islanders and UK Lions.

Souvenir/playing shirts for the day for £10 each include hockey if purchaser wants to play on the day. If pre order we can offer pink, navy, black or white.
