It is with a heavy heart that I advise you all of the untimely passing of Jez Storey, a former coach with the UK Lions.
Jez was one of those characters that you could not hold back, packed with enthusiasm, energy and all the good things that make tremendous hockey coaches.
Jez travelled with the UK Lions to Canada for a national indoor tournament that we were invited to. He led the team to the final and he was a pleasure to watch and see how animated he was towards hockey.
Jez also travelled to Belfast on a couple of trips there, and became an instant hit with both players and parents alike.

Jez was a staunch member of the St Albans Hockey Club in Hertfordshire, and you would always find him either coaching, umpiring, behind the bar, making the teas, or wherever somebody needed some support Jez was never far away from that.

It is a loss to not only his family but to the hockey world, and I am sure the hockey upstairs is in a far better place having Jez as a member
“RIP Jez, you were a superstar and a great friend”
